Have you ever been in the bottomless pit of despair? That is the feeling I call true happiness. Nothing outside us can compare with this kind of happiness. Here are inspiring tales of thirteen “warriors of life” who have done exactly this! They have fought bravely and not only triumphed, but gone on to build lives more beautiful than the ones they had inherited.
Allow them to inspire You towards new possibilities, towards the enjoyment of each twist and turn down life’s road, towards the realisation and wisdom that difficulties and overcoming them are what make our “passing through this planet” The most amazing part of our human experience.
Book Review: I Am Invincible by Neelam Kumar
I Am Invincible by Neelam Kumar is a book of true inspirational tales of fighters and courageous people who survived the extremes of life. Each story gives hope. The book is divided into two sections, first one is ‘Cancer Stories’ and another is “Adversity Fighters”. First section consists 6 inspiring stories of cancer survivors. The stories in this section are strangely soothing, as they chart the journey through the bewildering maze of cancer diagnosis, surgery and chemotherapy.

These people show courage, spirit and a sense of humour, as they describe their ups and downs on their journey to recovery.
I really enjoyed reading this book and learning about all the different people and their experiences with extremes of life. Everyone seemed to cope in their own unique way. The author includes her own story of survival plus a selection of others from different age groups and backgrounds having different difficulties with life.
This is a book about love, courage and the strength to get through Cancer and other extreme challenges life has to offer. It will help you understand what it’s like to actually go through the fear, the pain, and the courage to fight this battle called life. Everybody has a different story but they all share the same outlook, that is, fighting cancer and adversity takes a village of people who will support and love you through a very challenging time in life. There are days when you want to give up but something inside keeps moving you forward.
I Am Invincible is a helpful and practical insight into the world of cancer. The stories that Neelam Kumar shares in this book will make you understand how cancer is diagnosed and the frightening journey most patients take to diagnosis, treatment and recovery. As you read the stories and realize how much commonality there is among them, you’ll understand that no one is alone on a cancer journey.
Sometimes we need to read things like this to appreciate how tough life can be and what it can throw at you. All these people really seem to have come through it in a good way. This book will make you understand what it is like to stand next to a loved one who is fighting cancer or any other disease or trauma. If there is one book you need to read this year, I Am Invincible is a must read. I applaud all of 13 survivor of terrible trauma of life whose stories are shared in this book and all the other who are fighting, you all showed so much strength and resilience. This book is not about surviving adversity, it’s about thriving beyond adversity.
In afterword, author wrote a poem which I thought was a wonderful ode to these survivors and fighters. I hope the author will bring out another book with more great stories of hope!
