Book Review - ARKO - The Cosmic Order by U W Leo

Book Review – ARKO: The Cosmic Order by U W Leo

U.W. Leo has the power to transport the reader into a world beyond the ordinary and the expected, beyond reality. His style is engrossing and readable, and his books are very well balanced and crafted. The second book in the Arko series, “Arko: The Cosmic Order,” picks up five years after the events of the first book, “ARKO: The Dark Union.” The protagonists, a group of teen Arkonots, are grappling with the mixed feelings they’ve had as a consequence of the success of their attempts to improve technology and the pushback they’ve encountered from those who oppose their efforts to restore the planet and enhance genetic engineering technology.

The novel opens in a world inhabited by dinosaurs and features an intriguing experiment that is reverting the planet back to the landscapes it had before the impact of human civilization. As a consequence of the abduction of their leader, Ben, by the opponents in an attempt to halt them, the Arkonots find themselves embroiled in an intergalactic conflict and forced to re-evaluate their mission and its eventual objectives. In the next few pages, the team—now consisting of teens rather than tweens and a newly added cyborg member—is speeding out into the unknown, propelled not just by alien technology but also by their own in-depth understanding of scientific principles.

The latest offering by U.W. Leo, “Arko: The Cosmic Order”, is an action-packed, intricately designed escapade that is chock-full of unique twists of plot and unexpected revelations. This exciting second book in the science fiction adventure series focuses on topics such as genetic engineering, the development of advanced technology, the exploration of strange and uncharted worlds through space travel, and the appearance of dinosaurs. The book whisks the reader on a perilous journey in which the young protagonists are practically fighting for their survival. They have no idea what they will discover in the real world, but they are determined to find out what the purpose of their existence is.

As in the previous book, U.W. Leo’s prose can only be praised. Somehow, he has unlocked a fantastic quality in his writing that simply oozes the tone and mood he seems to be aiming for. This blend of the naiveté of childhood and the regrets of adulthood is brilliantly portrayed. The author has produced another remarkable work of literary genius that reaches out to our inner child and reminds us to never give up on our dreams, never snuff out the magic that we once believed in, and never give up to let the demons triumph.

Prepare yourself for a book that will make you think and also be ready to believe things that seem impossible. U.W. Leo is not someone you can count on to neatly wrap up loose ends, give you a comforting read, or even make you smile, but he may well capture your imagination with his visions, which can so easily switch between enchantment and nightmare. This is a series that I would recommend to everyone who likes science fiction, as well as anyone who is in the mood to settle down and read a fantastic adventure story.
